This traditional Kashmiri handicraft vitally supplements an often fluctuating rural income. Wool is custom dyed to match the original artist's image and hand stitched onto a cotton base. Each cushion is backed with natural coloured cotton canvas, and closes with a zip.
Bianca's heritage decends from the Aboriginal community of Goodooga, in the northwestern region of NSW, the traditional land of the Kamilaroi/ Gamilaroi people. This elegant and restful artwork describes the landscape that Bianca loves, where the land meets the sea.
Using a gentle pallet of earth tones and blues Bianca describes the migration patterns of her ancestors that created a network of Aboriginal culture across Australia. Traditional migration patterns were age old, defined by various landmarks and natural resources. These migration patterns worked in harmony with the seasons and the natural environment.
